TVS Motor Company unveiled the TVS Jupiter CNG, marking a bold move as the world’s first scooter to come factory-fitted with a CNG system. Showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, this concept adds eco-friendly versatility to the trusted Jupiter platform. Based on the 125cc Jupiter, the CNG variant blends familiar ergonomics and features with low-cost, dual-fuel mobility.
Smart Dual-Fuel Performance
Under the seat of the Jupiter CNG lies a 1.4 kg CNG cylinder alongside a 2-litre petrol tank, enabling a combined range of approximately 226 km. Switching between fuel types is seamless—done through a convenient handlebar-mounted button. As a result, riders can enjoy efficient, long-distance commutes without frequent refueling.
Engine and Driving Dynamics
The scooter retains the familiar 124.8 cc single-cylinder engine, though tuned for CNG use. It delivers 7.2 PS at 6,000 rpm and 9.4 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm, slightly modest compared to the standard Jupiter 125 specs. Top speed is rated at around 80 km/h—adequate for city and light subur ban riding.
Retaining Jupiter’s Practical DNA
Aesthetically and ergonomically, the Jupiter CNG mirrors the standard Jupiter 125. This includes its body design, seating posture, and wheel/brake setup. Even the under-seat storage of the ICE version is replaced by the CNG tank, meaning less room for helmets, but a small front apron cubby makes up for some utility.

TVS claims a useful 84 km per kg on CNG, supporting significant daily savings. When combined with petrol assistance, fuel cost drops to approximately ₹1.42 per km, compared to ₹1.87/km for the ICE-only Jupiter 125 in real-world usage—making the CNG version notably lighter on pocket.
Launch Timeline & Pricing Expectations
Expected to hit showrooms around October 2025, the Jupiter CNG is estimated to cost between ₹90,000 and ₹1 lakh ex-showroom. It is anticipated to become available through existing TVS dealerships and online channels, likely with launch incentives such as cashback or EMIs
