Galaxy S26 Edge Rumored to Pack Bigger Battery for Better Lifeon September 2, 2025 at 4:30 am
Samsung might be addressing one of the Galaxy S25 Edge’s biggest weaknesses with its successor. According to reliable tipster Ice Universe, the Galaxy S26 Edge could pack a substantially larger battery to combat the poor battery life that plagued its predecessor.
The leaker posted on X that the Galaxy S26 Edge will feature a rated capacity of 4,078mAh, which typically gets marketed as 4,200mAh. That represents a significant 300mAh jump from the Galaxy S25 Edge’s 3,786mAh rated capacity (marketed as 3,900mAh).
This upgrade directly tackles the S25 Edge’s most glaring flaw. Despite Samsung’s engineering prowess, the ultra-thin form factor forced compromises that left users scrambling for chargers by afternoon. The phone’s ultra-thin profile came at the expense of all-day endurance.
Samsung isn’t alone in this struggle. Apple faces similar challenges with the rumored iPhone 17 Air, expected to debut next week. Early reports suggest the iPhone 17’s new steel-cased battery won’t deliver fantastic battery life either, highlighting the industry-wide trade-off between thinness and power.
However, the Galaxy S26 Edge’s rumored capacity boost suggests Samsung found creative solutions. Whether through more efficient internal layouts, advanced battery chemistry, or silicon carbon technology adoption, the company appears committed to having both form and function.
If accurate, this 300mAh increase could transform the user experience. This could be the difference between having to charge your phone mid-day or it lasting you until night time.
