தைவான் ரிங் ஆப் ஃபயர் என்ற பகுதியில் அமைந்துள்ளதால் அங்கே அடிக்கடி நிலநடுக்கம் ஏற்படுவது வாடிக்கையான ஒன்று. இந்த ரிங் ஆப் பையர் பகுதியில் நிலநடுக்கம் மட்டுமின்றி எரிமலைகள் சூழ்ந்து இருப்பதால் அதன் வெடிப்புகளும் அடிக்கடி ஏற்படும்.
இதனிடையே இப்போது அங்கு திடீரென சக்திவாய்ந்த நிலநடுக்கம் ஒன்று ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது. தைவானின் வடகிழக்கு பகுதியில் ஏற்பட்ட நிலநடுக்கம் ரிக்டர் அளவில் 6.1ஆகப் பதிவாகியுள்ளது.இந்த நிலநடுக்கம் 171 கிமீ ஆழத்தில் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளதாகவும் தகவல் வெளியாகியுள்ளது. இந்த நிலநடுக்கத்தால் எத்தனை பேர் உயிரிழந்துள்ளனர் அல்லது பாதிப்புகள் எந்தளவுக்கு மோசமாக உள்ளது என்பது குறித்த தகவல்கள் இதுவரை வெளியாகவில்லை.
