பல்வேறு காரணங்களுக்காக கூகுள் நிறுவனம் பயனர்களின் இருப்பிடம் சார்ந்த விவரங்களை சேகரிப்பது வழக்கம். அதற்கு பயனர்கள் லொகேஷன் அம்சத்தை ஆன் செய்திருக்க வேண்டும். இதன் மூலம் பல்வேறு சேவைகளை பயனர்கள் பெற முடியும். இருப்பினும் பிரைவசி உட்பட பல்வேறு காரணங்களுக்காக பயனர்கள் லொகேஷனை ஆஃப் செய்திருப்பார்கள். இப்படி லொகேஷன் அக்சஸை ஆஃப் செய்த பயனர்களின் இருப்பிட விவரம் சேகரிக்கப்படாது என கூகுள் தெரிவித்துள்ளது.
